Food, Drink & Facilities

Our farmhouse dates back to the 1700s. You can read about the original owners on the wall in the living room. Nowadays, it retains its charm but has been modernised to ensure that you get a good night’s sleep and a nice hot shower in the morning before you head out to explore the spectacular surroundings.

At the back of the property,The Barn has been fully renovated and brought back to life, providing an additional 18 beds.

Nestled in between the two areas is a lively bar and common area for all to enjoy eating, drinking and chatting together.

Drinking

Our bar offers one of the widest selections of Scottish beers and ciders around – at least 25 at any one time. We also have 25+ Scotch whiskies, plus of course a selection of gins and other spirits, wines, juices and snacks.

Outside there is a private beer garden, perfect for enjoying a relaxed evening drink.

Our bar is exclusively for residents and is dog-friendly and family-friendly.

See here for our current menu (subject to change depending on availability).

Eating

There is a well stocked guest kitchen for those who wish to cook for themselves. For groups, we have a catering menu – see the Group Bookings page. Within 2–15 minutes’ walk of the hostel there are six restaurants and cafes.

There are also barbecues available for use outside on the terrace area. Bring your own charcoal! (It’s usually available in the local shop.)

We do not offer breakfast at the hostel any more because there are so many good breakfast options available in the village. We will be happy to run through these when you arrive. For anyone who doesn't want to go anywhere for breakfast, we have porridge available to buy.
